What Sets This Apart

Integrated Resource Library vs. Standalone Tools

No Separate Document Management System

Resource Library is built into your membership platform—members access resources automatically when they log in, no separate credentials or accounts needed. Most resource libraries require separate logins and manual uploads.

Access Control Based on Membership Data

Set permissions by member type, contact type, or membership status—and the system enforces them automatically. When a membership expires, access to members-only resources stops. When someone becomes a Board Member, board-only documents appear.

Track What Members Actually Use

Built-in Google Analytics integration tracks every download and link click. See which resources get the most engagement, which categories members browse, and prove ROI on the content you create—without custom coding or third-party tools.

Access Control

Protect Sensitive Content, Share Public Resources

Granular permissions by member type and contact type.

Access Levels:
  • Public Access: Make resources available to anyone—no login required
  • Members Only: Require login and current membership (or within grace period)
  • Specific Member Types: Restrict to Student, Professional, Corporate, or any member type
  • Contact Types: Show content only to Board Member, Sponsor, Volunteer, or Committee Chair contacts
Security:
  • Members-only files stored in protected folders never indexed by search engines
  • Access permissions sync automatically with membership status changes
  • Even with member-only access, resource titles and descriptions remain visible—members prompted to log in when they click

Common Questions

Resource Library FAQ

Dropbox® and Google Drive™ require separate logins, manual permission updates when members expire, and members can't search by anything except filename. i4a's Resource Library automatically restricts access based on membership status, lets members search by keywords and categories, and requires no separate login. When a member's renewal lapses, their access to members-only resources stops automatically—no manual permission list updates.

No. Resource Library is included with every i4a subscription at no extra cost. Upload PDFs, presentations, templates, and guides within your overall site storage limits—most organizations have ample space for their resource libraries. Your price stays flat. See pricing details

Members log in once to your member portal and can access the Resource Library. No separate Dropbox® account, no SharePoint® credentials, no email attachments to lose. Everything is integrated into your membership site, making resources easier to find and use.

When someone clicks a member-only resource without being logged in, they're prompted to log in or join. This turns your resource library into a membership conversion tool—prospects see the value you offer and can join immediately to access it.

Yes. Use the bulk import tool to add hundreds of resources at once from an Excel file. Upload your existing PDFs and documents, map them to categories in your spreadsheet, and import everything at once—no manual one-by-one uploads required.

Resource Library storage is subject to your overall site storage limits. Most organizations have ample space for their resource libraries—PDFs, presentations, templates, guides—without hitting storage caps. Your i4a price stays the same regardless of how many resources you upload.

Yes. When adding a resource, you can select as many categories as you want. The same resource will appear in each category you assign it to. You can also assign it to multiple subcategories within those categories.

Yes. Edit the category and set it to "Inactive." It won't display on your website, and any resources assigned only to that category will be inaccessible. Resources assigned to other active categories will still be visible elsewhere.

Single-Page Display shows all categories and resources on one scrolling page (not compatible with subcategories). Multi-Page Display (recommended) shows categories first, then resources appear when a member clicks a category—better for large libraries or if you use subcategories.

Yes. You can create a resource with just a title, author, publication date, and description—no file or URL required. This is useful for creating "coming soon" placeholders or listing external resources members need to request separately.

Google Analytics tracks aggregate download counts and can show you general user behavior, but it doesn't identify individual member downloads. For member-specific activity tracking, consider using password-protected pages or gated content with form submissions.
